Hi..
Thanks for the query..
As per your complain throat swelling and painful swallowing can be due to
throat infection and red spot seems to be due to infection or some sort of
allergic reaction but is not appearing to be due to decayed tooth..
So my suggestion is to continue taking Keflex and along with it you should consult an ENT Physician and get evaluated..
A throat swab culture will help in diagnosis and treated accordingly..
You can be advised:
-Antibiotics like
Augmentin OR
Azithromycin to resolve the infection..
-Anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen can be taken to relive pain. -----Doing warm saline gargles, steam inhalation and using a humidifier in your room can be very much relieving.
-You can also suck throat lozenges to soothe the throat..
-Gargle with numbing mouthwash containing Lignocaine..
-Gargle with antiseptic solution like few drops of betadine in water..
-Chew Vitamin C pellets to boost up the immunity..
For toothache consult an Oral Physician and get evaluated and an x ray can be done for ruling out the exact condition of tooth..
In case if tooth can be saved
root canal will be done..
In case if tooth is grossly decayed, extraction is advisable..
Hope this helps..
Regards.
