What Causes Throbbing Headaches Along With Ringing In Ears?

I fell yesterday and my left temple hit into an iron bar really hard. Yesterday the area was tender and I had a headache but today within the past 20 minutes it s throbbing. My left ear has some ringing and I feel mild pain down the left side of my neck and when I swallow. What should I do?

Dear
Thanks for raising your concern on this platform and here is symptomatic approach to your symptoms:

1. most headaches in general practice are ordinary tension headache and if it has started following head injury first have a complete Neurological examination (reaction of pupil, neurological weakness, pulse rate, bleeding through ear, nose, mouth) and refer for X-ray skull and C.T. scan, till then you just need an analgesic and may be a tranquiliser.

. Tablet Disprin 1 thrice daily
. Tablet Calm pose 5 mg 1/2 -1 at night
. If pain is severe: Inj. Novalgin 2 cc IM or tablet Ibuprofen thrice daily
. Inj. T.T. 1/2 cc IM.
. Take rest in a dark, quiet room. massage and press the scalp. Apply counter irritants like Vicks/Amrutanjan to forehead.
