What Causes Throbbing Pain At The Bridge Of Nose?

Hi For several weeks I ve been getting pain in both eyes- they are also very dry and gritty at night. I have also been having throbbing headache in the bridge of my nose. When I pinch my nose it relieves it. When I drink alcohol it gets really painful both in eyes and nose and when I cry the pain is terrible.

Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM!

Regarding your concern, your symptoms seem to be related to an atypical trigeminal neuralgia. The fact that alcohol intake exacerbates the pain, is another indicator of this disorder.

The dry eyes may be related to Sjorgen syndrome or Keratoconjunctivitis sicca (KCS).

I recommend consulting with the GP for a careful physical examination, a routine blood test, Schirmer's test, a Tear Osmolarity Test.

Further tests like a brain MRI and other test for autoimmune disorders may be needed to establish the diagnosis.

Hope to have been of help!

Best wishes,
Dr. Ilirir
