Dear Parent,

Muscle pain is a very common symptom of a viral flu. There are some flu viruses which can cause inflammation of the muscles - a condition called myositis. In such cases the muscle pain can last for about a week or two after fever subsides. The pain usually comes down with pain relievers like brufen. However it is important to know if you child is not able to balance due to pain or is there something else going on. I suggest that you consult your pediatrician who can examine your child and give a proper diagnosis.
