Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I get random throbbing pain/somewhat tender on the side of my head just above my ear. It comes and goes. in general I have some additional stress/anxiety and have atrial septic defect with PFO (take daily low dose aspirin) and treating for high blood pressure with verapamil. What kind of headache do you think this would be?
If no other symptoms are present other than a throbing headache that comes and goes very likely this is a tension headache, which is a headache due to muscle spasm. If nausea and vomiting or sensitivity to light is present this can be a migraine headache.
If other symptoms are present other causes should be considered.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
