Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Throwing Up Of Blood Along With Swelling And Pain In The Back?
My brother has constant pain that goes from dull and achy to off the charts where he has passed out in the area where his colostomy was performed. He has thrown up blood, blood in stools. Now the pain is wrapping around to his back causing some swelling in the kidney area, no UTI. And has pain around his spine. He also has been having nausea, dizziness, cannot eat till full without hurting. His ability to maintain his work and exercise regime is dwindling. Please help
I would like to give some comprehensive tests: 1. Complete Blood Test 2. Whole Abdomen USG 3. Kidney Function Tests 4. Liver Function Test 5. Stool Analysis 6. Urine analysis
I would like to ask: 1. Flex your leg (Fold your legs) and see whether the pain increases or not? 2. Is the pain more on the right side or left side? Is the pain more in the lower part of the abdomen or upper part?
Meanwhile, eat a healthy diet. Do not eat oily spicy. if possible, feed on steamed foods and light diet. Keep yourself hydrated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dipan Samanta, General & Family Physician
