What Causes Thrush On Tongue And Gums While Treating Fever In A Child?

My 2 year old child has a fever since Monday night. It is on and off mostly accuring at night. Other than fever, she does not have any other symptoms. However, since yesterday she stopped eating well. Today, I noticed thrush on her tongue and her gums are red mainly on the left side. Her twin, also developed a fever but it lasted 4 days. He also, developed mouth thrush and on top of that he is teething.

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain it seems that
Oral Thrush in toddlers who also has fever can be due to reduced immunity of the body caused due to infection..
Fever can be due to viral infection and there is also a possibility that if you are giving antibiotics due to fever then it can also cause Thrush..
So it will be better to consult a Pedodontist and get her evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like blood test to rule out the cause for fever and also microscopy of tongue coating can help in confirmation of cause..
They can be advised antifungal medication like antifungal mouth drops and mouthwash along with Probiotics like Yogurt...
