Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have been getting the sensation of thumping in my chest. I have a pacemaker and was recently told that I have paroxysmal afib. It s been days since receiving this diagnosis and I am not scheduled to have an echocardiogram for several weeks. Am I in danger?
* The thumping chest indicates that there is alteration in the regular rhythm or other conduction disorders as you are already having pacemaker, that may be malfunctioning or requiring adjustment of other medications of current use. However, needed additional information is best recommended for the same.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
