What Causes Thumping Sound In Ears?
I am experiencing a thumping in my left ear and sometimes in my right ear. It is like someone is tapping repeatedly on my ear drum. Sometimes it is so rapid that it is like a rapid fire shooting sound. It kept me awake most of the night last night.

I would suggest you to go for an ENT examination because it could be a foreign body which would complicate the things later.
Wash your ear properly but don't clean with ear bud. You should get your ear examined and wax removed for relief from the symptoms.
