What Causes Ticking Sound In The Ear Along With Numbness?
I HAVE HAD TICKING IN MY RIGHT EAR OFF AND ON FOR A WEEK OR SO. TODAY IT FEELS IF A WORM IS CRAWING AROUND ON THE SAME SIDE IN BACK CHEEK BONE. NOT ALL THE TIME BUT OFF AND ON. I WENT TO BRISTOL ON AUGUST 19TH. IT WAS LOUD. HAD SOME EAR PLUGS BUT NOT GREAT. BUT MORE CONCERN ABOUT THE NUMB FEELING. HAVEN T BEEN TO MY DOCTOR YET. I DID GET SOME EAR DROPS THAT ARE ORGANIC. THAT HELP SOME.... WHAT SHOULD I DO
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of ticking sound in the ear along with numbness which is due to Eustachian tube infection and which can cause pain and pressure in ear. Numbness can occur due to nerve impingement or infection as well.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to maintain ear cleanliness and apply warm compresses. Consult ENT specialist for proper examination. Doctor may order test like throat swab tests and blood tests and may examine with otoscope and prescribe antibiotics(amoxicillin) along with anti inflammatory. Avoid touching or pricking it with any sharp object.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
