What Causes Tickling Sensation In The Throat Along With Persistent Cough?
Hi, I ve had a cough for several months now (approx.8). It is a tickle in the back of my throat causing the cough. It only occurs after cooling off. Either sitting in front of an A/C vent or coming into an A/C room after being outside or at night when I go to bed with the ceiling fan on. Usually a halls cough drop or mints will take care of it. Don t really feel bad just getting annoying. I feel that it is likely a common cold but seems like a long time to have it. Is this possible or is the cough likely something more serious? Thanks
Hello and welcome to Ask A Doctor services. I have read your query and here is my advise.
* The condition sounds to be in concern with post nasal drip in case of chronic allergic rhinitis or other respiratory disturbances.
* Though primary relief with decongestant, luekotriens and anti histamine can be obtained, a consultation with ENT specialist for indirect laryngoscopy and x-ray chest is a demand of time.
Thank you. Regards.
