What Causes Tight Feeling Radiating From Temple To Face?
I ve had a weird headache in the left side of my head.. I am used to migraines, had them my whole life.. this is pretty different. It is a tingle and tight feeling that starts by my ear/temple and goes down my face. It is really beginning to scare me.
This is Dr Jigar( ID specialist). Let me help you out.
From your presentation it appears that you might be suffering from trigeminal neuralgia.
Trigeminal neuralgia is characterized by Episodes of severe, shooting or jabbing pain that may feel like an electric shock. It usually affectes one side of face at a time.
I advice you to visit neurophysician for this. You should also need to watch carefully that which factors and conditions precipitates this attack. Also give details of current migraine therapy to your doctor. He may go for various neurological tests and MRI. Most of the cases are treated well with medicines but certain conditions( compression of nerve by tumor or blood vessels) require surgery.
I hope this will help you. Please revert back with your valuable feedback.
Regards. Dr Jigar.
