What Causes Tight Sensation Around The Left Breast?

I have tightness and band like feeling above and below my left breast mostly. When laying down it hurts more than sitting up, I get shortness of breath when it starts. Normally it doesn t last that long, but this time its hurting for a few hours now. I am 6 months pregnant and wanting to breast feed, would this effect my choice of breast feeding?

Hi,

The tightness in this region during pregnancy is because of the high-pressure development in the lower abdominal area. So you don't need to worry about it much.

But because the left side of the chest is involved and there is not much associated with gastric symptoms you need to have a cardiologist consultation done too.

I don't think there is any problem in breastfeeding in the post-pregnancy period.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
