What Causes Tight Sensation In The Chest And Difficulty While Swallowing?

I woke up this morning with tightness in my chest and throat, difficulty swallowing. Last night I ate a slice of pizza which I rarely do (once a year perhaps). I ve never been tested but I think I m allergic to gluten and I eat very little dairy. I m wondering if this is an allergic reaction? It s not as bad as this am but still feel tightness in my chest and in swallowing a bit.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If you think this is an allergic reaction you can take an antihistamine at home then go to ER for epinephrine and prednisone injections.
If you feel tightness in chest and difficulty swallowing and swollen face it is clearly an allergic reaction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
