Hello,

Neck pain especially if it is worse on movement or touch is very likely is due to muscular problems. In some cases the pain due to muscular strain can last even for weeks. It might be helpful to use local warm compresses to relax the muscles and also have paracetamol and ibuprofen.

If no improvement in a week or any worsening you will need to see a doctor to make sure of the cause and if the cause is muscular then a physiotherapist might be of help to give you exercises that will help muscles relax.

I hope I have answered to your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
