Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tight Sensation In The Throat And Heaviness In The Head?
I have these episodes that happen.. it starts with tightening of my throat and nasal passages, my eyes get really heavy and my forehead gets really hot. Sometimes I vomit, but not all the time and it s at the point where I can feel it coming on so I get a cool wash cloth and drink ice cold water which helps with my throat tightness.. not sure what causes them or why they are happening
I would like to tell you that your symptoms can be because of serious gastric reflux or cardiac arrhythmia disorder which requires proper evaluation treatment.
Kindly stop all spicy, junk food, carbonated drinks, caffeine-containing products and smoking for about 10-15 days. If it makes any changes in your symptoms then it is because of gastric disorder. If it doesn’t help then you need a basic cardiac evaluation.
Then get an ECG, Echocardiography and Holter and consult a physician with reports for further treatment.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhanu Partap,
Cardiologist
