Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have high blood pressure which has been going unchecked due to not having or affording a doctor, anyway, about a half hour ago my chest got tight and heavy. I took my blood pressure and it is 170 / 102 with a pulse of 126. Should I go to the emergency room? YYYY@YYYY
Thanks for your question. I do understand your pain and discomfort. I have seen many cases with similar complaints. As per your history, my advice is that first admit yourself in any hospital where coronary angiography can be done. Your problem is due to angina which can lead to heart attack at any time. So do ECG/ECHO/Angiogram if blockage found angioplasty will be performed.
I hope I was able to address your query. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to write to me.
Wishing you all the best.
Thanks, Dr. Uday Nath Sahoo
