What Causes Tightness And Pain In The Knee While Bending It?
Hi...so I somehow messed up my leg over a week ago...nothing happened....but all of a sudden I couldn t bend my knee and it felt really tight...It almost felt like a cramp in my thigh. Within minutes I couldn t bend my leg.....now my knee is randomly giving out when I make sharp moves. I have taken several days off of my feet...Iced and heated, iced and heated...just worked tonight..and it is back to bothering me more and seems like the muscle above the knee on this inside is tight.....Also, I still seem to have a small bit of swelling on the upper outside of knee Any idea what is going on? ball
Since you have a history of trauma and complaining of pain since a long time after the incident there is a chance that you may have mild sprain of your ligaments which commonly causes such pain. The best way to treat it would be to give rest to the leg for few days and apply an elastic knee support while walking. This would be sufficient for a mild grade of shear. But if the problem persists for long and pain too increases you need to get thorough examination, as delaying would lead to aggravating the problem.
If the pain is mild get an analgesic prescribed and take rest. Report to a doctor if severity increases. Do not worry now that you got an idea of your condition and consulted a doctor you shall be alright soon.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
