What Causes Tightness In Chest Along With Mild Pain?
Hello, I having some heaviness/tightness in my chest and very slight pain. I had done my chest X-ray and ECG and both are normal. I have been advised by the doctor to take Nexpro RD 40 and Antacid as he suspected of Gastric problem. But I still sometimes feel heaviness/tightness kind of. Thanks
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tightness in chest along with mild pain . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like broken ribs , injuries to the chest , rib fracture , inflamed lining of the lungs , muscle spasms or inflamed rib cartilage . The symptoms can also occur due to angina , but you have already go through ECG and x-ray. I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon for proper examination Doctor will examine physically or may order chest x-ray or CT scan . Doctor may prescribe breathing exercises to help you breathe more deeply because shallow breathing can put you at risk of developing pneumonia. Doctor may use compression wraps elastic bandages that you can wrap around your chest to help splint and immobilize the area. Doctor maay also refer you to chest specialist for chest infection or cardiologist for cardiac problem .
Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
