What Causes Tightness In The Lower Abdomen?

Sometimes my lower abdomen tightens up so tight it looks like large grapefruit. It isn t painful but it acts like it pulls me down; like I am bent into an L position. I have to push myself up, and walk with my hands on my knees to be at a somewhat erect position. If I don t do this, I walk around bent over. Eventually I can stand up again, if I don t pick anything up over approximately 15 lbs. Thank you for your time.
