What Causes Tightness In The Thorat After Taking Mebendazole?

I am taking Mebendazole for first time. I was prescribed by the doctor at walk in hospital two days ago, but wasn t given a proper explanation of what to expect of what to do and I can t get an appointment with my usual doctor to ask her. I took it last night and have been awake since, not being able to sleep because my throat feels tight and have needed to constantly swallow to keep it from closing, and drinking lots of water.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

If your throat feels tight after taking medication this may be a sign of an allergic reaction and you need to let your doctor know immediately of this.

I would advise to not take a second dose of the medication without informing your doctor and having the approval of the doctor to continue the treatment.

I hope I have answered your query. I remain at your disposal in case further medical assistance is needed.

Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj,
