Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tightness In Throat After Drinking Alcohol?
I was out drinking last night, had a few shots of vodka, two beers and a cider and when I got home I felt this tightness in my throat and its preventing me from sleeping, but this is the first time this has happened and I ve been out drinking two times before this in the past. It is worse when I lie down and it almost feels like when you re about to cry, that s the kind of pulling tightness it is.
Hello dear Greetings Regarding your experience with tightness in your throat following consumption of alcohol exacerbated when lying down I am suggesting that you have developed an acute pharyngitis (inflammation of the throat)
In view of this please take any of the following Tablet nurofen Tylenolneurobion
If no improvement please schedule an appointment with an ENT specialist for further clinical assessment and adequate drug prescription
I hope this helps Regards
