What Causes Tightness On Left Side Of The Chest Along With Dizziness?

just had heart stress test a month ago; no enlargement or other issues. then this afternoon I am experiencing a flutter/tightness on left side of chest, light-headedness, cold sweat and a touch of nausea along with a severe stiffness/pain on left side of neck behind ear. I am 51 years old and smoke and my family has a history of heart disease (yes I know I m both stupid and a ticking time bomb). The mitigating side is that I have not eaten lunch today but I have never experienced all these symptoms before. Am I over-reacting and get something to eat or is this a classic precursor to a possible episode??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Any symptom on left side of chest in your age group with a history of smoking can be an alarming one, of course for a acute event of heart attack. I will advise you to get a comprehensive cardiac evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Loveleen Sharma, General & Family Physician
