What Causes Tilted Cervix To The Right Side?

I m 33 female & need to know why my cervix has shifted far to the right. I just found out today when I had a biopsy done & it was very difficult for the obgyn to get the speculum in the right place because my cervix is in a different place than it used to be & this really confused me. Is it normal at my age?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Tilted cervix can be due to lax or weakened ligaments supporting the uterus or weakened pelvic muscles. The uterus may slip or tilt, retroflexed or retroverted uterus. It is normal till it does not cause pain. It can be treated with pessary, exercises or surgery.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya Vasudevan, General & Family Physician
