My tongue goes to the left when I stick it out A dr. is concerned enough to ask for an MRI even though I have no symptoms of a stroke. I am 65 AND I have high blood pressure that 5 meds don t seem to help. Am I right to be concerned about an impending stroke?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have tilting of tongue towards left while sticking out. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like bell's palsy or cardiac condition like stroke . I would suggest you to consult cardiologist to rule out more serious condition like stoke . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , complete blood profile and check vitals . Doctor may also refer you to neurologist for belle's palsy . Doctor may prescribe anti coagulant , muscle relaxant , anti epileptic drug or recommend physical therapy .
