What Causes Tingling And Electric Shock-like Feeling In Arm And Wrist?
I m a 31 year old female who has been experiencing tingling stiffness electric shock and loss of grip in right hand arm and wrist also tingling muscle tightening in my right leg usually at same time but also one starts then the other today I was writing and the electric shock pain was so sharp I dropped my pen and happened again when texting
As per my clinical experience, the tingling and electric shock like feeling in arm and wrist do indicate underlying significant pathology at or above the wrist level of arm. The usual cause is involvement of ulnar or median nerve via compression at flexor retinaculum or above level. The same can happen in Carpal tunnel syndrome or other neurological conditions. A primary evaluation with expert orthopedic surgeon is must who may guide about requirement of an MRI in your case.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
