What Causes Tingling And Numbness In The Feet And Toes?

About 6 weeks ago I felt a pinching on my rt hip/ buttock. It affected how I walk at first then later even sitting, laying down, standing or any position. I went to a physical therapist and she did some compression on my lower back and it released some of the tension and pain. I am walking better some days. My concern is there is still some tingling and numbness on my rt foot and toes. I m thinking the nerve is being pinched somewhere and my concern is if there is any thing else I can do. Also, would it cause damage to my nerves being pinched for long time.
