What Causes Tingling And Numbness In Upper Legs After An Injury?

Hey I fell down the stairs, landed on my back and slid down about 5 stairs. I felt alright after but it s been an hour now and I feel a tingling, numb sensation in my upper legs. Should I be worried? I should add that I am a heavier guy, about 300 pounds.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi!
I went through your problem and sorry to know that you fell down on your back while getting down.

It seems to me you have symptoms suggestive of injury to the nerves in the lower back that could have resulted in tingling & numbness sensations in both the upper legs.

I would advise you to consult an orthopedic or a neurosurgeon for proper clinical evaluation and may be you need certain lab tests like x ray of the lower spine or MRI scan to find out the extent of the suspected injury.

Meanwhile you may take some NSAID pain killer if you experience pain.

Hope this answers your query.
