Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son complained last night that twice during the day yesterday while sitting a this desk he felt like a snake had run down the length of his leg very quickly . He described the sensation like a tickling and somewhat painful sensation. It is important to note that he has been complaining of leg pain in one leg or the other - different areas of his leg - upper and lower for about a year now. We have not mentioned it to his pediatrician and simply wrote it off as growing pains. What prompted my research and question is the snake running down the leg very quickly sensation he experienced yesterday... Is this common? Or is there a reasonable explanation?

What Causes Tingling And Pain In Legs Of A Child?
Hi, Based on the history you have shared, he can be experiencing referred nerve pains as he has explained to them like snake running through. If symptoms persist nerve conduction studies, detailed sensory nervous system examination, as well as neurologist review may be helpful. Levels of Vitamin D3 B12 and folic acid should be done and replacement may be needed if low. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
