Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

Regarding your concern, I would explain that your symptoms seem to be caused by possible neuropathy or a metabolic disorder (electrolyte imbalance, thyroid hormone imbalance, etc.).. A cervical intervertebral disc bulging, causing compression of the nerve roots, can not be excluded either.

That is why I would recommend consulting with your GP for a physical exam and some tests:

- a cervical spine MRI study
- a nerve conduction study
- blood electrolytes
- thyroid hormone levels
- vitamin B12 level.

You should discuss with your doctor on the above issues.

Hope to have been helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
