What Causes Tingling On The Right Side Of Face Post Root Canal Treatment?
I recently had a root canal and a crown on one of my teeth. Since the procedure a month ago, I've been having tingling on the right side of my face that goes into my ear, cheeks and lips. Could the periodontist or dentist caused some type of nerve damage during their procedures? Thank you!
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...
As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems that you have got an accidental neve injury while the anaesthesia injection was given to you for numbing the area of treatment to prevent pain.. The injection needle has pricked the branches of trigeminal nerve and the nerve injury is leading to tingling sensation of the affected side of face.. The time duration in which such an injury will recover is unpredictable but mostly complete recovery is commonly observed although it can take from weeks to months for the condition to recover..
As of now you can do warm compresses over the affected side of face.. You can also take one multivitamin tablet for one month..
In case if there is no improvement seen in one month you should consult a Neurophysician and get evaluated..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards.. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
