What Causes Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Feet?

I have been assigned to a security job where I sit at a computer monitor bank and must monitor them for 4 hours of my 8 hour shift. I have done this now for about 8 months. For the last 5 or 6 weeks, after i have been sitting for an hour or so, my feet start tingling and feel numb. The numbness goes away when I get up and walk around the complex as part of my rounds later in the shift. Is this something serious?
