What Causes Tingling Sensation And Numbness In The Left Hand?

I am experiencing tingling/numbness in my left hand when playing guitar. I have about3-4 minutes of play time when the hand will be quite numb. Turn the hand 180 degrees and hang it down and it wakes up. I have tried the pinch test and have normal strength. I am 63yrs. Male. electrician. I have had rotator cuff repair also. I am wondering about carpul/tunnel or pinched nerve in my neck.

Orthopaedic Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

You are right. Most probably you have carpal tunnel syndrome. Get done a nerve conduction velocity test ASAP. The treatment would depend on severity but generally, it is surgical release.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Gopal Goel,
Orthopedic Surgeon
