What Causes Tingling Sensation And Numbness On Left Face Radiating From Face To Arm?

I have tingling & numbness, that radiates from the left side of my face - that runs down my left arm, to the elbow - woke up with it - had it for about 3 mos. - getting a little more agrivating - feels like a pulled muscle - had a cold & a cough, in about 3 mos. ago - was wondering if I injuried a muscle. I have also had numerous strokes & was in a coma & was paralyzed from the neck down - but I came out of the coma & all my feelings back - but have a lot of pain from arthritis. I have cervical disc also & have had cervical disc surgery in the 80 s. This is what caused my strokes - a bone splinter cut my arteries, in my neck & caused bleeding to my brain. But now I have this numbness & pain, on the L side of my mouth & pain running down my arm - and into the shoulder blade, not like an MI - but I do get a lot of indigestion at times. I was just wodering about the tingling & numbness issues, as to what could cause it. TY, Sally Morin

Hello,

The symptoms you have been suffering from may be due to the following reasons:

3) Encephalitis
4) Transient ischemic attacks
5) Multiple sclerosis
6) Transverse myelitis
7) Tumors causing pressure on spinal cord
8) Magnesium deficiencies
9) Cervical radiculopathy

You need a detailed history taking and thorough physical examination in person to evaluate the causes. MRI will be useful if done. Please do consult a neuro-physician for arriving at a specific diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
