What Causes Tingling Sensation And Restlessness In The Feet?
Hi, before bedtime almost every night my wife s feet tingle and become restless. It is both feet and can be temporarily relieved if I rub them for a short time. She does fall asleep fairly quickly and once she is asleep it doesn t seem to bother her further until the next evening. She works all day on her feet whether standing or walking around and is otherwise in good health. She is 51 years of age, slightly overweight but has a very active lifestyle. Any help would be appreciated, Thank you.
For this problem, rules out the causes for tingling which are as follows:
-Check vitamin B12 deficiency by serum B12 estimation -Rule out diabetes by random blood sugar estimation as it can lead neuropathy -Rule out thyroid disorder by serum TSH -Liver, kidney profile by SGPT, SGOT, urea, creatinine -Smoking, alcohol history taken -Rule out vascular cause if needed by Doppler USG
Also, consult the physician for examination.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
