What Causes Tingling Sensation In Feet With Pain In Lower Back?

Hi, recently i ve been suspected of having a slipped disc due to the symptoms i ve been having such as tingling of nerves, weakness and occasional sharp pain across my lower back and lower limbs. Especially on the top of my feet. But when i did an MRI scan, it shown no signs of slipped disc according to the doctor s report, except for a L5 radiculopathy. Is there a possibility where the MRI did not detect the slipped disc or is there another possible diagnosis?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

The L5 radiculopathy can be related to sciatica pain. Sciatica can cause tingling sensation in the feet and pain in the lower leg. I suggest to use an anti-inflammatory medications such as Acetaminophen to relieve the pain. I also suggest to do gentle stretching exercises for relief.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
