What Causes Tingling Sensation In The Left Hand?

Hi - For a few weeks now, I have woken up because my left hand has severe tingling. My thumb and next two fingers are very numb, the ring finger is slightly numb, and my little finger is not at all. After a few minutes, the pain goes away in a wave. I will fall back to sleep but wake up again 30-60 minutes later when my thumb and fingers go numb again. I am not diabetic (checked my blood sugar last night and it was 110).

Neurologist 's  Response
Hello!

My name is Dr. Aida and I am glad to attend you on Healthcaremagic!

Your symptoms seem to be related to tunnel carpal syndrome ( a pinched nerve in the hand).
For this reason, I recommend consulting with a neurologist for a physical exam and performing a nerve conduction study.
Meanwhile, I would recommend trying not to bend your wrist during sleep (you may use a stick and a towel in this region, to try to maintain the wrist extended during sleep).
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes!
