Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hello, Thanks for your query. The tingling sensation in thigh is likely to be due to a minor nerve root compression at the level of lumbar spine due to degenerative changes in the spine. The main treatment of such problem is bed rest along with pain killers and muscle relaxants. Local analgesic gels and hot fomentation may provide a short term relief. You can use analgesic gels like Volini gel. Exercise is not advisable in the times of acute pain. Using an LS contour belt of appropriate size might be helpful in providing support to back muscles. Physiotherapy also plays a major role in treating such conditions. Such minor symptoms are usually taken care of by Methylcobalamin supplements which you can take after consulting your orthopedician.
I do hope that you have found something helpful and I will be glad to answer any further query. Take care
