I suffer from tinnitus, however, I have the reverse problem. When my right ear feels full the tinnitus actually goes away. when I lay on my left side and the right ear drains overnight the tinnitus comes back. Any suggestions - been to the ears nose and throat specialist and he is baffled.
Hi, thanks for your query. Unilateral tinnitus , fluctuating in nature is most commonly due to middle ear effusion. If I were your treating doctor, I would have advised for tympanometry and treat with decongestant tablet and nasal drops + antihistamines + mucolytics combination drugs twice daily. Steam inhalation daily 3 to 5 days will be helpful. I would suggest you to consult with the doctor and get evaluated. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
