What Causes Tiredness And Hair Fall In Spite Of Thyroid Medication?
Hi, I am 24 and female. I have had a thyroid problem since I was 17 and taking Thyroxin 125mg a day. Over the past few months I am feeling more tired, weak, hair falling out and keeps getting worst. I had a blood test done 4 months ago and was told everything is looking good. Im going to get another one done but still not sure whats happening. I have taken mdma twice in the last 4 months, could this be a contributer
Hi dear The symptoms like feeling tired, weak and hair loss are symptoms of hypothyroidism. My advice is to repeat the thyroid tests(TSH,free T3 and free T4 ) to understand the actual thyroid function and to make the necessary dose adjustment of Thyroxin (if necessary). MDMA or extasy is a drug ho can produce effects like feelings of mental stimulation, empathy toward others, a general sense of well being, and decreased anxiety. In very rare cases it can cause letargy and a strong fatigue. In my opinion the principal cause of you symptoms is the low function of the thyroid gland. I suggest to meet an endocrinologist in your area for the necessary thyroid test and the dose adjustment of thyroxine.(if necessary) Wish you good health. Dr. Elona
