Dear Melanie,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Healthcare magic. I read carefully your query and I understand your concerns.
All the symptoms you describe are typically found in hypothyroid condition.
-Tiredness/ Fatigue
-Increased sensitivity to
cold,
-Unexplained weight gain despite no dietary change,
-Memory problems,
depression, or problems concentrating etc.
Your
TSH level of 4.3, as you mention is considered slightly high, and it is increased in order to stimulate your thyroid gland to increase the production of T4 and T3 hormones.
This means that your
Levothyroxine dosage is not enough, and your doctor has to increase it. After your dosage is changed, you will have another
blood test 6 to 8 weeks later to make sure the dose is right for you.
Hope I helped with my answer. For further concerns or follow up questions, feel free to ask again.
Wishing you good health,
Dr. Ina
