What Causes Tiredness Even After Sleeping For 12 Hours?
i can sleep 12 hours a night and then still be tired during the day and want to take a nap. I have trouble waking up in the morning to get to work on time no matter what time I go to bed at night. I feel as though I am sleeping my life away. What is wrong with me.
Hi welcome to Healthcaremagic, I can understand your concern. There are a couple of causes for one not feeling fresh even after a long night sleep. Such short term problems can occur when someone changes from day to night shifts or vice versa. It's also seen in jet-lag. But your problem as I feel from the query is a long term one. As an initial workup you should do a Blood Haemoglobin, Renal function Test and Thyroid function test. >You should inform me if you are on any drugs or if you have any mental stress. Ask someone at home to see if you snore at bed, in can be a symptom of Sleep Apnea Syndrome. Later we can go for a detailed work up for sleeping disorders like narcolepsy and idiopathic hypersomnia syndromes. Don't worry much on this issue, we'll tackle it. Be cool. Do reply. Thank you.
