What Is The Cause For Blood In The Stool And ESR 90?
i have been feeling general unwell for a few weeks with tiredness and blood in my stools i have been to my gp and had some blood test with showed are raised ESR OF 90 and a raised white cell count i was wondering what the causes could be thanks YYYY@YYYY
Hello and welcome to HCM, Blood in stools can occur in many conditions. Blood in stools can appear in cases of inflammatory bowel disease, irritable bowel disease, ulcer, polyp, cancer etc. A colonoscopy of the lower gastrointestinal tract (GIT) is required to assess the lower GIT. raised ESR is seen in chronic inflammatory diseases. It is a non-specific condition and it is not specific for any disease.
It may be related to the condition in the lower GIT which is causing blood in stools.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
