Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Tiredness, Missed Menstrual Cycles And Weight Loss After Tubal Ligation?
My daughter is 19 months old, and I had a tubal after she was born. I had the normal bleeding after she was born. And I had periods after that. Recently I have missed 4 periods in a row, and I m tired alot, I lost weight and now my stomach is looking like I m pregnant again.
As per my clinical experience, the long time back tubal ligation does not affect menstrual periods, weight changes at a gap of 19 years. Current cause of missed menstrual cycles, tiredness seem to be in relation with estrogen deficiency via low level functioning of ovaries due to decreased functinal ovarian reserve from aging.
It is the redistribution of abdomen fat which reflect as swollen tummy and making you like pregnant. Kindly consult your OBGYn in this matter for getting help with hormone replacement therapy or others to combat the symptoms.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
