What Causes Tongue Swelling After Taking Enalapril?
Need answers to why a person has taken enalapril have sudden allergic reaction to the medicine and how long does this go on her tongue swells and throat swells and is no longer taken the meds We have gone to gp doctor with this he sent us to Allergy specialist he was so sure it was the blood pressure pills that caused this problem. Should we have allergy test ran or should we go to see Ent doctor for answers!
Swelling of the tongue after taking medication is most probably a side effect or allergic reaction to the medication only and the symptoms can gradually subside as the drug will wean off from the body..
You can take anti allergics like Levocetrizine to reduce the allergy symptoms faster.. Also do cool compresses over the tongue..
Yes, you can run allergy tests as it will also help in ruling out the compatible medications so that you do not suffer from the allergy symptoms in future..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
