What Causes Tooth Abscess Despite Taking Amoxycillin?

I have an absess on a back tooth. Fist lot of antibiotics didn't work so my doc has given me amoxycillin 875m twice a day it is not working either. The tooth has to come out when infection is fixed hopefully by Tuesday I'm in a lot of pain any suggestions!!!!

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain tooth abscess is formed when infection on tooth progress below the root tips of the tooth and there is Pus formation..
Antibiotic can reduce infection to some extent only in case if the infection is severe..
As you are not getting relieved with antibiotics then you need to get the infection relieved by asking your dentist to create an access cavity in tooth and drainage for pus can be established by it as there will be an escape way from pus..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkillers like Ibuprofen to relieve pain along with antibiotics..
