What Causes Toothache While Suffering From Tonsillitis?

I've been having problems with tonsillitis for a few years now and have been recently referred to an ENT but recently every time I end up with tonsillitis my wisdom teeth seem to act up and I end up with toothaches for a few day, it there any connection?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..

As per your complain pain in wisdom tooth while suffering from tonsillitis is not due to pain originating from wisdom tooth itself but it is from the gum flap that surrounds the wisdom tooth and it leads to inflammation of the gum flap that surrounds the wisdom tooth leading to PERICORONITIS..

It can also cause radiating pain to entire side of the jaw..

As the throat and area of wisdom tooth are close to each other therefore inflammation and infection from throat can progress to inflammation in that area leading to flare up of Pericoronitis leading to pain..

I would suggest you to consult an Oral Physician and get the wisdom tooth area evaluated along with an x ray of wisdom tooth..
In case if the gum flap is still covering some area of wisdom tooth and if wisdom tooth is impacted then either removal of gum flap or extraction of wisdom tooth can help in permanent resolution of this problem..
