I am a 27 years old, female. i had my urinalysis yesterday. The nurse said that my urine has traces of blood. They asked me if i have my monthly period, and i informed them that i don't have. I need to go back again to the lab to repeat the urinalysis. The first day of my last period was aug 8. But sometimes in a month i have a brown blood discharge in between my period. The flow is like a 4th day of a monthly period . And i had it last aug 23-26. I feel that my regular period will be coming this week because i already feel pre mesntrual symptom like breasts swelling and tenderness.
Hi. Read and understood your history. It is very true that it is better to repeat the urinalysis to rule out admixture due to vaginal bleeding, but you do not have it. Whenever there is blood in the urine, one has to undergo an ultrasonography of the abdomen to watch for stones anywhere in the urinary tract from the kidneys to the the urinary bladder, thickening of the urinary bladder - cystitis. Also to undergo other tests of blood, kidney functions. The treatment will depend upon the findings. Till then take plenty of fluids orally to keep the urinary system flushed.
