What Causes Tremors And Weakness In Leg With History Of Having Knee Replacement?

Hello, My name is Teresa. I take care of my 85 yr old father. I need to know what could make his legs become very shaky and weak. In the last two weeks it has progressively became worse. He is a diabetic, has had a quad by pass about 2 yrs ago and both knees replaced about 18 to 20 yrs ago.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

* Your father seems to be having diabetic peripheral neuropathy most likely due to affected nerves of lower limb.

Kindly get him checked with expert neurologist as the previous knee replacement has nothing to do with this at present.

Till that time

- assist him in walking with walker

- control of his blood sugar

- intake of tablet methylcobalamine (1500 microgram) per day as sublingual tablet will help him for sure.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
