What Causes Tremors In The Hands After Increasing Zoloft Dosage?
My daughter has anxiety and was taking 100m of Zoloft. He raised it to 150 then 200. Her anxiety has decreased and she sounds like a different person. However, she noticed her hand, when holding her cell phone, shaking. This started about the same time she upped her med to 200m.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Though not a common side effect, but Zoloft like any other SSRI ,can cause tremors , and is a recognized side effect , so yes this can well be with the drug. but i would suggest you see a doc to rule out any other possible cause of tremors other then the drug. once other cause ( like thyroid, stimulant drugs , alcohol and a lot more )are ruled out then this can be helped by either reducing the dose of Zoloft, or even changing the drug if the problem is troublesome.
Hopes this clears your mind, I would be happy to answer if your have any thing else to ask in this regards.
